More specifically, one of the fundamental goals of The ImPact is the collection and sharing of information concerning impact investments so that participants in the impact investing marketplace have an accessible and verifiable source of information about the performance of impact investments. As such, a primary goal of The ImPact is to collect, analyze, and share data concerning your impact investments.

Why We Collect Your Information

The information we collect depends on the product or service that you receive from The ImPact, and may include:

  • Personally identifiable information voluntarily provided by our members, including name, physical address, email address, and phone number.
  • Financial information voluntarily provided by our members, including private investments and information on accounts at financial institutions.
  • Financial information that our members authorize third parties (such as their financial institutions) to share with The ImPact.
  • Social or environmental impact data (both quantitative or qualitative on investment made, provided voluntarily by our members or authorized third parties.
  • Information you voluntarily provide to us concerning impact investments.  This may include financial details of specific transactions, valuations, and investment outcomes. 
  • Information that you provide to us by filling in forms on this website.
  • Information that you provide to us by navigating this website and by accessing its various pages and features.  This type of information is typically gathered using log files, cookies and web beacons.

  • Information that you voluntarily submit to us, including through email, by filling out responses to questionnaires or other forms, or by entering information into the Addepar data platform (see www.addepar.com).
  • Information collected (e.g., through the use of cookies or log files) when you visit TheImPact.org and also TheImPact.Addepar.com, which is owned by Addepar.

How We Use Your Information

We do not sell, rent or otherwise share or disclose your private, personally identifiable information to third parties without your consent.  

As indicated above, one of the primary goals of The ImPact is to collect and share information concerning impact investments.  Members of The ImPact thus have the option to share data concerning their investments.  Upon receipt of your investment information, The ImPact may enter that information into the Addepar data platform.  The Impact may also categorize and aggregate such investment data and share that aggregated information with other members of The ImPact.  Aggregated data may also form the basis for impact investment reports or analysis posted on The ImPact’s website or otherwise made available to the public.  Aggregated investment data will not be attributed to specific members of The ImPact.  

In addition to sharing such aggregated data, members of The ImPact have the option to share their transaction-level (i.e., non-aggregated) data with other members.  Sharing of transaction-level data can be done on a named or anonymous basis, at the election of the sharing member.  Access to transaction-level data will be restricted to only those members who have agreed to share such data.  

Members own all of their data stored within the Addepar platform. Members may request their data be removed and returned to them at any time.

Protection of Your Personal Information

The ImPact, in connection with its vendors, employs reasonable security measures to protect against unauthorized access to your personal information, including a secure file storage system, password protection, and physical safeguards to protect against unauthorized access to systems. The security of investment information stored on the Addepar platform is subject to Addepar’s security practices and procedures, which are summarized at https://addepar.com/technology/.

Use of Log Files

Like many other websites, our website uses log files. Log files collect information about visits to a website by recording data such as the visitor’s Internet protocol (IP) address, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), date and time stamps, referring and exit pages, number of clicks made on the site, length of browser session, etc. Log files are commonly used by hosting companies and website operators to analyze trends in website usage, administer the website, determine which website features are used most/least frequently by visitors, and to gather demographic information.  However, such information is not personally identifiable, is not otherwise linked to any personally identifiable information and therefore cannot be used to personally identify you.
